Poker knight’s freeroll strategy

I’ve gotten some request that I should give you all some tips on how to create a little bankroll by starting with nothing. I’ve been researching on what poker client that fits best for freeroll. And after what I have experienced I would go for fulltilt poker, bet365, pkr and unibet, but of course some you got other opinions on what clients the best.

The most used freeroll games are the big tournaments, and in these tournaments it’s all about patient, concentration and a little bit of luck. The first thing I would advise you to do in these big tournaments is to wait for about 20-30 minutes, so everyone that will go all in if they got more than a pair is finished with their “game”. After this time players will slowly slip out of the tournament, so one thing I find very helpful is to have a notepad document on my desktop and write how the players handle their cards and chips.

When you got some solid notes on what the players are doing you can start playing your game. I like to play very aggressive when I feel that I can predict their moves. Of course I won’t rush my stack before the flop comes out since then all my notes would be wasted. In many situations my notes have saved me by telling me that my opinions got a big hand or is bluffing. Most often you will be moved around tables in these tournaments and this means that you will have to write A LOT of notes on new players all the time. I would advise noting players in all tournaments that you’re playing. And if you save all the players in a document you can search there names up and have their info for later.

So when you have made it through mid game by playing aggressive and building up a reasonable stack I always calm my bidding down. The longer the tournaments go, the more unpredictable the players get. So try to analyze your opinions even more before you start bidding high again. Most often when it’s less ten 10% of the players left it will go slow forward to the final table. But if you keep on analyzing, writing notes and being patient you will have a much big chance of winning.
